2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC VS 2020 BMW X3
April 16 2020,
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC has been at the forefront since the launch of this compact SUV with sublime comfort in 2015, but we must not lose sight of the fact that there are competitors on the market to whom we must attach real importance in order to be able to unmask them and pick a winner. That's what we'll do today between the 2020 GLC and BMW's X3.
The Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud dealership, located in the Greenfield Park borough of Longueuil near Brossard and Chambly, excels in the products of the three-pointed star brand. This star standing for luxury and high performance throughout Germany and the world. In this blog, the Rive-Sud dealership tells us about the 2020 BMW X3 by comparing it to the 2020 GLC from Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz GLC Class or BMW X3?
Both SUVs are German, and German vehicles are all about quality, durability and performance. The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic and BMW X3 are two superb sport utility vehicles that offer a pleasant, safe and stable ride, no matter where you decide to go.
After five years in existence, the Mercedes-Benz GLC brings a host of improvements to its 2020 model, starting with a slightly longer and lower body and a new version of the 350th, a plug-in hybrid that looks great and performs well on the road. But what sets the two rivals apart is under the hood: The GLC comes in several versions and, unlike BMW's X3, remains more powerful and more efficient on the road, because when you compare the X3 to the GLC 300 4Matic, you get 248 horsepower for the former versus 255 for the GLC with a torque of 258 lb-ft versus 273 for the three-point star. The AMG GLC 43 4Matic version is even more powerful with 385 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, while BMW's X3 M Competition and AMG GLC 63 S 4Matic versions show 503 horsepower each, but with 442 lb-ft of torque for the X3 against 516 for the GLC 63. This superiority translates into 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds for the X3 compared to just 3.8 seconds for the GLC 63. These proven performances clearly show that the Mercedes-Benz GLC Class outperforms BMW's X3.
What's more, the AMG GLC 63 S 4Matic version is superior to the X3 M Competition model thanks to its handling, superbly luxurious interior with premium materials, comfort and superior soundproofing with a 12.3-inch virtual board and screen, the MBUX interface with its user-friendly voice commands and artificial intelligence. As for BMW, the X3 is a good compromise between the X1 and X5 models, but its interior remains classic and up to date with a screen in the centre of the dashboard. Its seats are very ergonomic and the features are innovative.
Despite these first impressions, BMW's top-of-the-line model remains more expensive than the AMG GLC 63 S 4Matic, which offers more in terms of performance, power, comfort and elegance; the 2020 GLC appears more urban than the 2020 X3, safer, and with innovative technological features not found on the BMW model.
Both deluxe compact SUVs offer plenty of room, rear legroom, storage space and comfort to go far, so you can travel long distances on the road without feeling tired. With its refinement, boldness, perseverance and a taste for pushing the limits, Mercedes-Benz presents a luxury SUV that proves to be first in its class, especially since the GLC is one of the best-sellers in its category.
